FACILITIES GAIAS Galapagos Located directly in front of Playa Mann Beach, GAIAS has modern facilities equipped with computer labs, wireless internet, a library with specialized information about Galapagos´ marine and environmental issues, classrooms with audiovisual equipment, kitchen, dining and living room, and an outdoor terrace for study and relaxation. The Interpretation Center The Interpretation Center was opened by Galapagos National Park in March 1998. Funded by the Government of Spain, the Center is located only a few minutes walk from GAIAS on the north end of town. It is an amazing educational and informational contribution to both the island community and travelers alike.  The Center focuses primarily on the history of the archipelago, from its volcanic origins to the present. Two interpretation panels, representing the natural and cultural history of the archipelago, are linked together in chronological order. The center includes a small auditorium, meeting rooms and audiovisual equipment for the entire community to enjoy. The Center serves as both an interpretative focus and a community gathering place. Tiputini Biodiversity Station (TBS) In 1994, USFQ in conjunction with Boston University, established the Tiputini Biodiversity Station (TBS) to serve both the scientific community and discerning nature enthusiasts. Surrounded by pristine tropical rainforest in the Ecuadorian Amazon, the station offers a unique setting where science and adventure come together. Instituto Santiago de Quito (ISQ) The Instituto Santiago de Quito (ISQ), the USFQ Campus located in Riobamba, Chimborazo Province, invites students to experience a unique blend of academic experience, culture and adventure travel, in the authentic setting of the Ecuadorian Andes. Riobamba and its surroundings offer an incredible diversity of cultural, historical, and outdoor activities, including rock climbing, hiking and kayaking.
