Ecuador is known
worldwide for its biodiversity, a characteristic that is also reflected
in its marine realm. This program unites research and learning along with
some of the most impressive landscapes of the Pacific Coast. Through one
of the most experienced faculties in the country, students will learn on-site
about a variety of ecosystems such as mangroves, wetlands, rocky and coral
reefs, intertidal ecosystems and open oceans. Students will understand
the importance of marine conservation and management while studying marine
mammals, reptiles, sharks, sea birds and fish within a social reality that
must always be considered for any conservation or management initiative.
