USFQ was founded in 1987. Its main campus is located in Cumbayá, in the beautiful Tumbaco Valley 15 minutes outside of Quito, Ecuador. More information about USFQ. Photos.

This campus, located in a colonial town 200 km south of Quito, is destined to become one of Ecuador's most important centers for cultural education in the country. ISQ offers Andean highland cultural and outdoor adventures, gender studies, volcanology, culinary programs, and intensive Spanish. It also functions as a feeder campus for the main campus and offers dozens of classes in diverse areas.

Galapagos Academic Institute for the Arts & Sciences. USFQ's campus on San Cristóbal, in the famous Galapagos archipelago, is the only institution of higher education on the islands. GAIAS is the location of annual summits that attract world leaders in science, including Nobel Prize winners. You can arrange it by enrolling in Boston University's Tropical Ecology Program , by enrolling in Kalamazoo's Environment and Ecology classes (includes 22 days in both Tiputini and GAIAS), or (if you represent a university) by establishing a custom-tailored program directly with USFQ's Tipituni Research Station. |
SPECIAL PROGRAMS AT THE CUMBAYÁ CAMPUS
USFQ is the first university in Latin
America to embrace Babson College's #1 ranked Entrepreneurialism program. On
October 4-6, 2006 twenty-four key professors and administrators received
intensive training at the USFQ Cumbayá Campus to promote the entrepreneurial
spirit throughout the university's activities.

To guarantee academic excellence, USFQ works
with the Kansas State University-based Individual Development & Educational
Assessment Center to develop state-of-the-art Spanish-language assessment
tools and reports. Numerous American universities use this system to
document ongoing improvement. |

The USFQ Instituto de Música Contemporánea is a Berklee International Network School. This is an extension program of the Berklee College of Music -- quite possibly the most prestigious music school in the world. The Institute's primary focus is on jazz and uses all Berklee curriculum and materials. The IMC is a driving force influencing music in Latin America - attracting students from Chile, Peru and Colombia.

The International Health Training Center is a project of the College of Health Sciences that arranges specialized residency experiences (e.g. rural or tropical medicine) for international health care professionals. The Center also offers customized training programs . (brochure in English here) |

Ceiba Foundation for Tropical Conservation
has teamed up with USFQ
to offer this exciting semester-abroad program in applied tropical
conservation. Students participating in this program visit the Galapagos,
Amazonia, and the Andes Highlands. |
