HISTORY
The College of Sciences and Engineering of USFQ, known before as the College of Applied Sciences, started its activities with the founding of the University of San Francisco Quito in 1988, and has since expanded its academic fields to include almost every field of engineering and applied sciences.
The goal of the College of Sciences and Engineering is to create professionals with a high degree of scientific and technological preparation in their areas of specialization and a solid humanistic understanding in the liberal arts; professionals that are well-rounded people, with strong ethical and moral principles, sharp critical thinking abilities, who are able to make decisions and problem solve creatively; professionals who think objectively about Ecuador and the world, sensitive to the problems of our society and profoundly committed to improving professionally and personally.
The academic programs of the College of Sciences and Engineering have been structured around a modern and challenging curriculum with the aim of forming a new generation of professionals, leaders within their areas of professional activity that are adequately prepared to confront efficiently and imaginatively the big challenges of the 21st century in the different areas of science and engineering. These academic programs are aimed at students that are willing to accept personal challenges and who aspire to work in positions related to the management, planning, design, and construction of projects in all fields of engineering.
