Professional Profile

Camila Molestina obtained a BFA from Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ, Ecuador) and a MFA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She was certified in translation from English to Spanish at the University of Massachusetts Boston. She is coordinator of the Visual Arts Program at USFQ. In addition, as a professor, she teaches Watercolor Workshop, Capstone courses, and Labs in which she directs artistic research projects. Her interest in translation developed through her artistic investigations about language acquisition. Her artistic practice revolves around literacy and phonation processes. She is currently working on a video installation project about deep listening and vocal frequency modulation.
