Professional Profile

Carlos Suárez holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (United States). He is a professor at the University San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador). He directs the Master's program in Industrial Engineering and the CATENA-USFQ Innovation in Productivity and Logistics Institute. He is a consultant for the Center for Development and Technology Transfer. He is involved in research projects in urban logistics, big data, and SME productivity, with the MIT Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (SCALE) Network. He is a co-leader of the Urban Logistics and Last-Mile Operations research line for the MIT SCALE LATAM network and a research collaborator at MIT LIFT Lab. He is a co-author of publications and book chapters. He has experience in systems integration, operations optimization, supply chain solutions, and data analytics in consumer goods, telecommunications, health, and pharmaceutical industries.
