Professional Profile
Dennis Cazar Ramírez, obtained his Ph.D. in Electronics and Computer Science at the Università degli Studi di Pavia, Italy, in 2002, and a BsC in Physics at the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo, Ecuador, in 1993. Dr. Cazar Ramírez worked as a research engineer for Ericsson Lab Italy, developing microwave radiotransmitters for high-capacity telecommunications systems. Since 2013, he has been working at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) as a professor of Physics and Electromagnetic Theory at the Department of Electronics of the College of Sciences and Engineering. Currently, his research focuses on the development of astroparticle and cosmic ray detection systems for smart agriculture applications. Dr. Cazar Ramírez is a member of the LAGO (Latin American Giant Observatory) collaboration and is a researcher of the CMS experiment of the LHC particle accelerator at CERN. He is working to create collaborative networks within Latin America and Europe for academic and research activities through the LA-CoNGA-physics (Latin American alliance for capacity building in Advanced physics) consortium.
