Mauricio Luzuriaga, professor of Architecture at the College of Architecture and Interior Design at Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ, Ecuador), holds a Ph.D. in Cultural Heritage from the Latin American and Caribbean University (Venezuela). Additionally, he earned a Master of Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati (United States) and degrees in Architecture from the Central University of Ecuador and Simón Bolívar University (Venezuela). Mauricio's expertise lies in large-scale urban and architectural projects, as well as the design of alternative structures. His research interests span contemporary design, bioclimatics, and the history of Modern Latin American and international architecture. Beyond academia, he is the author of the artistic photography book "Amazonas Transpuestas," showcasing his diverse projects and research published internationally in Ecuador, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Venezuela, Mexico, China, and Chile. Mauricio has also shared his insights through lectures across the globe, including Ecuador, the United States, Venezuela, India, South Korea, Mexico, Switzerland, Brazil, and Australia.
