Professional Profile

Lucía Ramírez-Cárdenas has a Master's degree and a PhD in Food Science and Technology at the Universidade Federal de Viçosa (Brazil). She is Director of Food Engineering and Director of the Master's Degree in Food Science and Technology at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador), where she is also a full-time professor and researcher. She leads research projects in the areas of food product development, packaging, functional foods, sensory evaluation, design of experiments and nutritional value of foods. She has worked with Ecuadorian industries and researchers from different parts of the world. She has been a juror in research calls, part of the professor qualification committee at different universities and a national and international reviewer in scientific journals. In addition, she has several articles and book chapters.
