Monica Villar Cáceres, a Nutritionist with a Master's in Clinical Pediatric Nutrition from the Institute of Nutrition and Food Technology at the University of Chile, holds a teaching position in the Nutrition and Dietetics program at the University of San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador). Actively engaged in academia, she contributes to various research groups and has represented the academic community on the Ecuadorian Advisory Council of the Technical Secretariat Grows Without Child Malnutrition. Monica is an integral part of the research group for the Latin American Study of Nutrition and Health (ELANS), Chapter Ecuador, with a substantial body of published articles in scientific journals and presentations at both national and international conferences. Leveraging her expertise, she has played a significant role in the Technical Committee of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), contributing to the development of the Dietary Guidelines for the Ecuadorian Population in 2018 and the Dietary Guidelines for the First 1,000 Days Ecuador in 2023.
