The Third Latin American OCD Congress is an event that facilitates dialogue and collaboration among various stakeholders committed to understanding and addressing Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). This event will be a space for academic, professional, and experiential exchange, allowing the community to share knowledge and experiences to drive research and tackle the challenges associated with OCD. Highlighting the LATINO study, a pioneer in exploring the genetics of OCD, the congress aims to disseminate its findings to contribute to more precise diagnoses and effective treatments.

The congress consists of two tracks, ensuring accessibility and benefit for a wide range of individuals who have both lived and studied OCD.

This track has been meticulously designed to provide support and guidance to patients living with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and their families. Throughout the sessions, the latest findings from the LATINO study, a groundbreaking research exploring the genetics of OCD, will be shared. This knowledge is presented with the aspiration of catalyzing significant improvements in future diagnoses and treatments. Participants will delve into various topics, from the genetics of OCD to the importance of family support, strategies for coping with the disorder, and patient perspectives on motivation and treatment. Additionally, practical techniques such as mindfulness will be explored, aimed at strengthening coping tools for the disorder. Participating in this congress provides patients and families with the unique opportunity to access up-to-date information on OCD genetics and treatment, interact with trained professionals from the United States and Latin America, explore strategies for managing the disorder, and establish valuable connections with other affected individuals and their families, learning from their shared experiences.

General Description

General Objective:

To promote progress in the research of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). The Congress is a dynamic and conducive space that provides a prominent platform for the dissemination of essential knowledge, with a special emphasis on insights from the LATINO study.
To cultivate an enriching space for those living with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), as well as for their family members. The event focuses on strengthening connection and understanding among individuals who share similar experiences. This community collaboration aims primarily to develop collective strategies to effectively address the multifaceted challenges associated with OCD. The event seeks to create an inclusive environment where lived experience takes center stage, thus fostering the building of a strong support network among those facing OCD and their loved ones.
To contribute to a more positive and realistic understanding of the impact of OCD on people's lives. By highlighting that it is possible to live with this condition, the aim is to provide support and hope to the community, while also offering insightful views on effective diagnoses and treatments.

Target Audience:

The congress is designed to attract a diverse and inclusive audience. It is aimed at patients with OCD, family members, and relatives of patients with OCD.

Format

Total duration of the course: 8 academic hours in 1 day.

The congress will be in-person at the facilities of the University of San Francisco de Quito. The main language of the talks will be English; however, there will be a mix of English and Spanish presentations for which we will have simultaneous translation services.

The Diploma in Supply Chain Security Management covers everything from risk assessment to the implementation of effective security measures. This training program provides participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to ensure asset protection and business continuity.

Over four specialized modules, participants will explore best practices in security within the supply chain, including aspects such as transportation security, warehouse security, and distribution centers. Additionally, topics such as cybersecurity and the application of emerging technologies to enhance operational security will be addressed, closely related to the implementation of ISO 28001 standards.

With a practical approach based on case studies, participants will develop skills to identify and mitigate risks, plan business continuity, and promote a culture of security within their organizations. Upon completion of the course, they will be prepared to implement effective security measures to protect the supply chain and ensure the success of logistical operations.

To provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage security in the stages of the supply chain. Additionally, to promote awareness of the importance of security in the supply chain and to prepare participants to face current challenges in this field.

To enroll in the diploma, participants must meet the following requirements:

The teaching methodology of the course is based on the flexible Blended learning model and project-based learning. The professor will conduct live sessions with students, encouraging active participation with questions and comments. The more frequent these interventions are, the richer the collective learning will be. Sessions will focus on specific topics or case studies, aiming to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the theory and its relevance to the current industry context.

In addition to this, all participants will undertake 40 hours of autonomous learning on the E-Learning USFQ platform, where they will find materials provided by the professor. They will watch videos, read short articles, participate in forums, or engage in brief discussions on various topics covered in the course.

Approval Certificate
Parameters for issuing the approval certificate:
Participants must achieve a minimum grade of 80% at the end of the course to obtain their approval diploma and meet a minimum of 80% attendance for the entire program.

Upon successful completion of the program, Universidad San Francisco de Quito will grant a certificate of approval for the number of academic hours completed.

If the participant does not pass the program, Universidad San Francisco de Quito will be unable to issue the certificate.
