Nerses Sanossian, MD, FAHA is a Vascular Neurologist with board certification in Neurology, Vascular Neurology, Neurosonology (neurovascular ultrasound), and Neuroimaging. He is the Director of the Division of Neurocritical Care and Stroke, the Vascular Neurology Fellowship (ACGME-Accredited), LAC+USC Stroke Center, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Stroke Center, and the Roxana Todd Hodges Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Dr. Sanossian specializes in the diagnosis and management of stroke (ischemic stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, cerebral vasculitis, stroke genetics, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs)). His research interests include: 1) Pre-hospital systems for treatment of stroke, 2) Stroke prevention and treatment in underserved and minority populations, 3) Emergency identification and treatment of stroke, and 4) Neuroimaging of stroke and cerebrovascular disease. He currently serves as Commissioner of Emergency Medical Services for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
Dr. Sanossian has received multiple awards and recognitions from patients, colleagues, and students. He has been voted as one of Pasadena Magazine's top doctors from 2011 to 2016 and has received over 10 teaching awards. He is an active clinician-researcher serving on the editorial boards of Stroke and the Journal of Neuroimaging, serves on various National leadership committees, and has published over 300 research papers, manuscripts, and book chapters.
