The Medicine program studies the different methods and mechanisms of pain prevention, care, recovery, and relief, with the purpose of improving human health and quality of life. It applies an integral perspective to the study of human beings, as well as related biological, psychological, and social aspects, taking into account their individual and collective manifestations. The program also contributes to disease prevention and health promotion in the country’s communities, as well as to the decrease in rates of mortality, malnutrition, obesity, and other diseases. In response to social issues related to the health of Ecuadorian citizens, we seek to contribute solutions to problems arising from centralization and inequality in health services.
