Objetivo: Brindar información y herramientas a los participantes sobre la protección de la propiedad intelectual en sus diferentes áreas: patentes, derechos de autor y marcas.
Desde la Oficina de Propiedad Intelectual y Tech Transfer de la USFQ les invitamos a participar en este importante evento organizado en conjunto con la Oficina de Patentes y Marcas de EEUU.

El evento está dirigido a estudiantes, investigadores, emprendedores y comunidad USFQ en general interesado en la propiedad intelectual.
Las presentaciones estarán a cargo de expertos de la United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) de Estados Unidos, quienes compartirán su conocimiento y experiencia en la materia.
Se ofrecerán sesiones de preguntas y respuestas para que los participantes puedan aclarar sus dudas.
Se proporcionará material informativo sobre la propiedad intelectual.

Ponentes
JENNIFER CHICOSKI
Intellectual Property Attaché for the Andean Community and Chile
United States Patent and Trademark Office in Lima, Peru
Ms. Chicoski is an attorney with experience in intellectual property (IP) and advocates for U.S. IP policy interests by supporting American companies in the protection and enforcement of their IP rights in the region. She has a 25-year career at the USPTO and is actively involved in the implementation of trademark classification and examination policies and procedures. Ms. Chicoski has advised on national policy development and international affairs and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University.
BRIAN YEH
Legal Advisor (Copyright)
United States Patent and Trademark Office
Brian Yeh is an attorney and advisor for the Copyright Team at the Office of Policy and International Affairs of the USPTO. His international portfolio includes South America and Southeast Asia, where he closely monitors the evolution of local copyright regimes. He serves as a resource for interagency teams working on projects affecting these regions. Additionally, he is part of the U.S. delegation at meetings of the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). He also contributes to USPTO copyright analysis in domestic litigation, legislation, and other policy initiatives.
Brian Yeh holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Cornell University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin. He is also a member of the Maryland Bar Association.
SILVIA SOLIS
Intellectual Property Legal Advisor
United States Patent and Trademark Office in Lima, Peru
Ms. Solis provides guidance to the Attaché and the U.S. government on intellectual property (IP) matters in the Andean Region and Chile. She collaborates with countries in the region to promote high standards of IP protection and enforcement while organizing training programs for key authorities. Previously, Ms. Solis served as Director of Patents at INDECOPI, making significant contributions to the development of policies that promote innovation, patents, and research and development tools. Ms. Solis holds a Bachelor of Laws from San Martín de Porres University and a Master of Business Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
