The Psychology program is focused on the study of human behavior, emotions, and cognitive processes that occur when faced with different situations, as well as how such behaviors are made manifest in different contexts (individual, social, group, family, cultural, and organizational) as well as in different stages of development (infancy, adolescence, adulthood, seniors). The program also engages with fundamental human issues, such as death, motivation, love, attraction, sexual relations, integration into the work force, team-work, education, sexuality, among others, and how these are made manifest in different cultures. Also studied are the complexity of individual processes, such as learning, motivation, the construction of identity, etc., and collective processes, such as social relations, conflicts and their resolution, etc. The knowledge obtained serves to prevent social dysfunction or individual or group psychological malaise, as well as to optimize human development, both at the individual scale and as a collective.
