Jaime Guerra, with a doctorate in Biology specializing in zoology from the Universidad Central del Ecuador, is a full-time professor and researcher in the College of Biological and Environmental Sciences at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador). His broad professional interests lie in mammals, particularly bats, where he conducts studies on distribution, abundance, taxonomy, systematics, parasitology, and virology in various Ecuadorian ecosystems. His work also involves monitoring terrestrial mammals and birds through camera trapping.
