USFQ seeks to prepare its students and technicians to successfully face the Internet economy in the 21st century. As part of its growth, the Telecommunications area has been selected by CISCO as the Local Network Academy for Ecuador.

This academy is oriented to an international certification in the handling of equipment and concepts of network and internet connectivity, security, internet of things, programming, and operating systems.

CISCO is the world leader in the development of networking and telecommunications products for the Internet. The CISCO-USFQ program teaches university students and technicians in the area the fundamentals necessary to design, build, and maintain computer networks, developing the skills necessary to compete in a world increasingly dependent on new technologies. Thus, the demand for qualified personnel in the area of ​​Networks and Telecommunications in Ecuador is covered.

This program uses an innovative educational system based on web technology, which in addition to presenting a high theoretical content, allows students to gain experience in handling CISCO equipment through numerous laboratory practices. Additionally, the program prepares students to earn accredited industry certifications worldwide.

CISCO created this program with two objectives in mind: assisting colleges and universities in the installation and maintenance of their own networks, and also, developing a new generation of professionals prepared for new jobs that the Internet and telecommunications economy are generating.
