Biomedicine
This sub-specialization introduces the student to the principles of human medicine. With these subjects, the student will analyze the human body from the functional, anatomical and cellular point of view.
The student will be able to examine and operationalize the medical bases, normal biological mechanisms and common pathological alterations of the human body.
It is aimed at students who are interested in the design and development of biomechanical devices to complement the treatment of different human diseases. This minor is not intended for students of human medicine.
For this minor, students must take the following courses:
CÓDIGO | NOMBRE | CRÉDITOS | PRERREQUISITOS |
---|---|---|---|
MED 1006* | Introduction to Physioanatomy + Lab | 3 | MED 1004 Introduction to Medicine |
MED 1002 | Ethics and Behavior | 3 | |

To complete the minor, students must meet the following requirements:
Complete 5 subjects of the academic curriculum of the subspecialization, considering that 1 course MED 1006 Introduction to Physioanatomy + Lab is mandatory and 4 are elective.
With the help of the Academic Coordinator of Medicine, a personalized Study Plan can be developed for each student. In this way, a logical academic sequence will be followed so that the student's learning is optimal.
Only students who meet the following requirements will be offered the Minor in Biomedicine:
- Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.00.
- Have no Academic Status in any period of their status as a student.
