Diana Pazmiño

Diana Pazmiño holds a Ph.D. in Marine Sciences from James Cook University (Australia). She also has a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador. Currently, she is a lecturer at the University San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador), where she also serves as the Director of the Master's program in Environmental Management with a specialization in Socioecosystem Management. In the Galapagos Islands, she leads research and outreach projects. Her research primarily focuses on the use of genetic and genomic tools for conservation, as well as on the development of local capacity for processing and analyzing molecular data. She has led high-impact scientific and social projects in the Galapagos Islands and believes that the involvement of local communities is essential for long-term conservation.
