Professional Profile
Karla Díaz holds a doctorate degree in Education from Capella University (USA) and a Masters in Social Work with a concentration in community work from Portland State University (USA). Currently, she serves as the Director of the Dragon Outreach Center and the Service-Learning Institute at Universidad San Francisco de Quito. Additionally, Karla is a full-time faculty member in the Education program at the School of Social Sciences and Humanities. With a rich background of 20 years in community engagement and service-learning, she co-founded the Ecuadorian Service-Learning Network. Karla's dedication extends to researching the impact of using service-learning as an experiential learning methodology. Her diverse research interests include service-learning, global service-learning and community engagement, adult learning, virtual learning, COIL, CHIL, short exchange programs, and global learning.
