In a constantly evolving world marked by a growing digital influence, the ability to manage money effectively has become essential for professionals in all fields, especially for those without prior experience in finance or investments.
This course enables participants to analyze essential budgeting and savings strategies that facilitate the construction of a solid and healthy personal financial foundation. Additionally, it highlights key tools for successful long-term financial planning and allows for an understanding of the main dynamics of digital investments within the contemporary financial context.
Blended Learning
Live videoconferences will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In-person classes will be held on Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Each session covers 2 sessions of 2 hours each, totaling 4 hours per day.

Learning Objectives
- Design short and long-term personal and family budgets that consider financial capacities and various forms of savings, with the goal of consolidating healthy and solid financial management.
- Identify crucial tools to ensure successful long-term financial planning.

Content
Personal Finance Management and Investment Fundamentals
Introduction to personal finance, including budgeting, savings management, and understanding credits and debts. Covers the basics of investments, the relationship between risk and return, and how to achieve a balanced investment portfolio.
Financial Strategies and Digital Investments
Long-term Planning
Explores long-term financial goal planning. Reviews different retirement strategies and how to integrate them into a personal financial plan. Addresses personal taxes and how they affect finances and investments.
Digital Investments
Addresses the world of investments traded on digital platforms, including bonds, stocks, forex, cryptocurrencies, online trading platforms, and blockchain. Examines regulations and risks in an ever-evolving investment environment. Provides an understanding of how digital technologies transform investments and enable new opportunities.

Supplementary Lectures
Aligned with USFQ’s Liberal Arts philosophy, where all areas of knowledge hold equal importance and contribute to the development of knowledge, this program includes virtual lectures on various current topics. These are open to the general public or are part of other programs.
Business Forum
The business forum is a virtual meeting space between students and panelists, including entrepreneurs, business leaders, professors, and experts, who will share their perspectives, trends, and best practices. The forums will be managed according to the annual schedule and are attended by students from non-degree programs and master’s programs at the School of Business.
Activities
This program includes various virtual activities, such as presentations, practical exercises for real-world application of presented concepts, workshops, discussions, and more. The program applies an active, participatory, and critical methodology that links theory with practice. Students must access the Desire to Learn (D2L) virtual platform at least 2 hours in advance to familiarize themselves, utilize study resources, and complete virtual activities. Access to the D2L platform is available from the start of the program until one month after its completion.
