Intellectual Property Management: Current Trends and Future Challenges.

Objective: Provide information and tools to participants on the protection of intellectual property in its different areas: patents, copyrights, and trademarks.
For many years, Dr. Diego F. Tatis has studied the clinical and cephalometric relationships between Orthodontics, Cranio-Cervical Posture, and Dental Occlusion, leading him to develop the biomechanical foundations of the Orthokinetic System, as well as a lateral cephalometric analysis method, a panoramic one, and a functional cranio-cervical analysis. His concepts and approach have helped many specialists worldwide to better treat their patients with clinically guided procedures based on objective data. His research and works have been disseminated as author and co-author of 15 textbooks and e-books and has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in research journals, becoming a leader in orthodontics and occlusion based on cranio-cervical function. Dr. Tatis received his degree in Dentistry from the University of Valle in Cali, Colombia in 1991. Subsequently, he earned a specialization in Orthodontics from the Military University of Colombia. And then multiple post-graduate training and specialization programs in related areas in different countries. He was the director of postgraduate orthodontics for more than 11 years and currently is an invited international lecturer and professor in different countries of America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. As a researcher and clinician, he has developed several patents, software, and digital systems applied to clinical practice for which he has received multiple awards from scientific and governmental associations. He is currently part of the Research Group of the Imbanaco Medical Center in Colombia and is an accredited researcher by the Administrative Department of Science, Technology, and Innovation - COLCIENCIAS. For 30 years, Dr. Tatis has maintained a successful practice in Cali, Colombia, exclusively in Orthodontics, Ortho-surgical Treatments, Cranio-vertebral and Postural Body Disorders.
