Description

The mission of the program is to train students who generate practical and environmentally friendly solutions for the industry, through research, development, synthesis, design, and operation of these processes.

Students in the Master's in Circular Engineering will acquire knowledge complemented by the subject of Graduate Colloquia and interaction with professors, fostering a solid interdisciplinary education.

Thus, the master's degree in Circular Engineering will be prepared to perform in a variety of roles in a broad and multidisciplinary field of action. The vision is of a Chemical Engineering program with high academic quality at a national and regional level, emphasizing collaborations with industry and international institutions.

The Master's in Circular Engineering, as an innovative proposal from the Universidad San Francisco de Quito USFQ, combines basic training in Liberal Arts, a characteristic of the institution, with specialized knowledge in the main theoretical, methodological, and practical advances related to the transformation processes of raw materials into value-added products, Green Chemistry and Engineering, Computational Methods, and Industrial Biotechnology, applying concepts of Circular Economy and Engineering.

Applicant profile

The ideal candidate for the Master's in Circular Engineering is a professional with a third-level degree duly registered by the educational authority in fields such as Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Nanotechnology Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Petroleum Engineering. In exceptional cases, professionals from other fields who demonstrate aptitude, experience, and fundamental knowledge for the program will be evaluated.

We value practical experience, and a minimum track record of 3 months in the specific field of the program will be positively considered. The admission process will be governed by the guidelines established in the program, ensuring a rigorous selection.

Scholarships

Excellence scholarships: According to the Graduate Scholarship Guide, (2) excellence scholarships corresponding to 25% of the tuition fee will be awarded to the applicant who demonstrates academic excellence during the admission process.

Research project scholarships: According to the Graduate Scholarship Guide, research scholarships will be awarded to the applicant(s) selected during the admission process. These scholarships will be funded by the research projects of the Academic College professors.

Requirements

Basic Requirements

To register for the admission exam, the applicant must submit the following documentation in digital format to the email of Santiago Tapia stapia@usfq.edu.ec. Failure to provide any requirement will result in disqualification from the process:

  • Confirmation of payment made through the system (screenshot) and completed application form, signed and with a photograph of the applicant (review process in Graduate Admissions).
  • Undergraduate degree, issued by an accredited university in the country and registered with SENESCYT in the fields of: Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Nanotechnology Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Petroleum Engineering.
  • Printed registration of the degree from SENESCYT. For degrees obtained abroad, the applicant must first register with SENESCYT if applicable.
  • Proficiency in the English language, equivalent to at least level B1 of the Common European Framework (determined by the English placement test of USFQ or by TOEFL, IELTS, or Cambridge certificate. Certificates must not be more than two years old at the time of application).
  • Official transcript of records.
  • Degree certificate with grade (except for USFQ Alumni and foreign universities).
  • Copy of ID card or passport.

Specific Requirements
