Professional Profile
Mario Caviedes holds a Master's degree in Plant Genetics from the College of Postgraduates of Chapingo, Mexico, and a Ph.D. in Agronomy from the University of São Paulo, Brazil. He is a professor-researcher in the Agronomy Engineering program at the University San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), Ecuador. Dr. Caviedes serves as the technical coordinator of the Puembo Experimental Farm and leads the semi-hydroponic strawberry research project under the Ecuagroimport - USFQ agreement. Additionally, he is the national coordinator for the Tech Maize-CYTED Project. Dr. Caviedes has extensive experience in the areas of plant genetics and improvement, agronomy, seed production for temperate and tropical crops, clean agriculture, agropecuary projects, biostatistics, experimental design, administrative and technical project management, development of policies for the agricultural sector, and agricultural consulting
