Professional Profile

Byron Toledo Goyes holds a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador and a Master's degree in Combined Artistic Languages from the National University of Arts (Argentina). He works as a teacher at the University San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador). He is the director of Q Galería. He is a founding member of No Lugar-Arte Contemporáneo and co-director of LaPlanta Laboratorio de Arte, a site-specific residency space. As a visual artist, he has exhibited his work in galleries and cultural spaces such as No Lugar (Ecuador), Arte Actual Flacso (Ecuador), Museum of Modern Art of Toluca (Mexico), Center for Fine Arts Ateneo de Maracaibo (Venezuela), La Paternal Espacio de Proyectos (Argentina), Space Derbi (Turkey), Pitzer Art Gallery (United States), and the National Museum of Ecuador. He has been a manager and exhibitor at the International Contemporary Art Encounter ArteMULA in its three editions (Buenos Aires 2013, Quito 2014, and Maracaibo 2015).
