Henry C. Vásconez is a medical surgeon from the Central University of Ecuador. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Washington University in St. Louis, USA, a Diploma in General Surgery from the University of Illinois in Chicago, USA, and a Diploma in Plastic Surgery from Emory University in Atlanta, USA, with certification from the American Board of Surgery and Plastic Surgery. He completed a Fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Southwestern University in Dallas (United States). He holds an MBA from the Gatton College of Business and Economics in Lexington (United States). He currently serves as the Dean of the School of Medicine at the University San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador). He was a recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship for teaching and research in Ecuador. At the University of Kentucky, he was a professor in Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Pediatrics; Director of residency programs; and Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery. He obtained the first Farish Endowed Chair in Plastic Surgery and was named Professor Emeritus of Surgery and Pediatrics. For over thirty years, he has led a medical and surgical mission in Ecuador providing free services to children from low-income backgrounds.
