College of Health Sciences

The mission of the College of Health Sciences is to prepare professionals in the different branches of health with a formal education in Humanities and Liberal Arts associated with Human Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, and Public Health, and the areas of Optometry and Human Nutrition.

During the past three decades, USFQ has consolidated a wide alternative in academic programs and in different branches of knowledge. Many of our Schools are leaders in each of their areas within Ecuadorian higher education.

About Us

Mission

The mission of the College of Health Sciences is to prepare professionals in the different branches of health with a formal education in Humanities and Liberal Arts, associated with excellence in academic training in Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and Dentistry, in order to deliver complete professionals, upright and endowed with critical thinking, molded by a select group of professors of the fourth level and superior human quality and warmth, to society.

The College of Health Sciences was founded in September 1994 and integrates the Schools of Human Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, and Public Health, and the areas of Optometry and Nutrition. Since its inception, the College has aimed at integrating Liberal Arts and Humanities with Medicine to develop a curriculum that is emerging with greater significance in the 21st century.

The College of Health Sciences maintains agreements with various universities in the United States and Europe to carry out student exchanges, internships, and tutoring abroad.
