Description

The Master's in Health Management at USFQ focuses on training successful, integral professionals with leadership skills in the field of healthcare management.

Our graduates are prepared to develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive healthcare models, as well as to develop innovative initiatives and actions that align with national policies and regulations, while also adapting to global trends in managing healthcare systems and networks.

Applicant profile

Candidates for the Master's in Health Management must hold a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary fields related to health and public or private administration, preferably in areas such as Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Medical Technology, Pharmacy, among others. Exceptions will be considered for professionals from other fields with aptitude and relevant experience. Additionally, a minimum of one year of professional experience in fields related to health at the national or international level will be valued.

Occupational field

In our Master's program, we provide the necessary tools and knowledge to excel in the national healthcare system, both in public and private establishments. Upon successful completion of our Master's in Health Management, graduates become highly skilled professionals with a deep understanding of the operation of various healthcare systems and models of care. This qualifies them to lead and improve clinical and administrative management in any healthcare institution, thereby contributing to the well-being of the community.

In addition, they acquire the competencies necessary to efficiently manage the field of healthcare, including mastery of legal regulations and public procurement. They are prepared to face the challenges of the legal and regulatory environment, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations in the healthcare sector.

The job market for our graduates is wide and diversified, with opportunities in areas such as medical direction and management of public and private hospitals, coordination of departments and service leadership in healthcare facilities, management and administration of diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitation centers, as well as project management and healthcare consulting for international institutions.

Requirements

For registration for the admission exam, the applicant must send the following documentation in digital format to the email of Santiago Tapia stapia@usfq.edu.ec:

If any requirement is missing, the applicant will not be able to participate in the process:

  • Confirmation of payment made through the system (screenshot) and complete application request, with signature and photograph of the applicant (check the process in Postgraduate Admissions).
  • Degree of third level in interdisciplinary fields related to health and public or private administration, preferably in areas such as Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Medical Technology, Pharmacy, among others. Exceptions will be considered for professionals from other fields with aptitude and relevant experience.
  • Printed title registration from SENESCYT. In the case of third or fourth-level titles, if applicable, obtained abroad, the applicant must register it in SENESCYT beforehand.
  • Knowledge of the English language, equivalent to level A2 of the Common European Framework as a minimum (determined by the USFQ English placement exam or by TOEFL, IELTS, or Cambridge certificate. Certificates must not be more than two years old at the application date).
  • Official grade transcript.
  • Grade certificate with grade (except for USFQ Alumni and foreign universities).
  • Copy of identity card or passport.
  • Pass the USFQ postgraduate admission exam. To do this, refer to the admissions process at: http://www.usfq.edu.ec/admisiones/admisiones_posgrado

  • We accept all national and international cards.
  • You can defer your payments with cards issued by: Diners Club, Banco Guayaquil, Banco Pichincha, Banco Bolivariano, Banco Produbanco, and Banco del Austro.
  • In payments per semesters or academic periods, you can defer up to 6 months without interest.
  • This program has 4 (four) academic periods, therefore, the total program cost can be paid in 4 (four) equal installments, each deferred up to 6 months without interest. Payment dates will coincide with the start of each academic period (verify dates on the Program Academic Calendar).
  • In payments per years, you can defer up to 12 months without interest.

Scholarships

According to the Scholarship Guidelines of the postgraduate program, the equivalent of two scholarships of 15% will be awarded for each cohort. Students who can apply for the scholarship after completing the first semester and demonstrating academic excellence are those who achieve a GPA equal to or greater than 3.8/4.00.
