Professional Profile

José David Vega holds a PhD in Telematics and Information Networks from the National Polytechnic School (Ecuador). Currently, he is part of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador) as a full-time professor. His research areas include applications and development of new technologies in Communications Theory applying machine learning techniques; as well as topics related to information security at the physical layer level. He has collaborated with prominent researchers from prestigious institutions such as Aalborg University (Denmark), University of Oulu (Finland), Linköping University (Sweden), University of Malaga (Spain), University of Granada (Spain), University of Campinas (Brazil), Paulista State University (Brazil), École de technologie supérieure (Canada), University of the Americas (Ecuador), among others. This international and national collaboration has resulted in the publication of more than 30 scientific articles. He completed a postdoctoral research stay at the University of Malaga in the first semester of 2023. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He has also supervised undergraduate and graduate theses and has participated as a member of the bench in master's and doctoral theses at an international level. He actively participates as a reviewer in prestigious international journals, such as IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transaction on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, IEEE Communications Letters, among others.
