Laura Ibagón holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Geotechnics and is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of the Andes (Colombia). At the University San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador), she serves as a professor in the Geotechnics Area in Civil Engineering and also as the Coordinator of the Soil and Pavement Laboratory. Her doctoral research focuses on evaluating the ripples in unpaved roads produced by vehicle traffic. Her areas of interest include the study of deformations in unpaved roads, foundations, slope stability, retaining structures, soil mechanics, soil dynamics, geotechnical centrifuge models, physical models with transparent soils, and the characterization of unconventional diatomaceous soils. Laura has contributed articles to reputable scientific journals such as "Transportation Geotechnics" and "Geomate".
