Professional Profile

Manuel García Albornoz, an Ecuadorian composer and orchestrator of contemporary and film music, has a diverse career spanning Buenos Aires, Quito, Barcelona, and Boston. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2011, he collaborated with Sonicframe Productions and worked on projects like the feature films "The Chain" and "Against The Jab." Returning to Quito in 2013, he engaged in jingles and commercials for projects such as "440" and "CandleCross." He assumed a full-time professorship at Universidad San Francisco de Quito’s College of Music, teaching subjects including harmony, counterpoint, orchestration, composition, and jazz arranging. While in Boston (2015-2018), Manuel premiered over a dozen pieces with performances by various contemporary music ensembles and orchestras. Currently residing in Quito, he serves as the coordinator of the Film Scoring department at USFQ and continues his freelance work as a composer.
