Conversatorio: Desafíos desde la práctica de la historia oral
The Center for European Studies (USFQ) and the Institute for Advanced Studies in Inequalities (USFQ) jointly organize a colloquium on the 'Challenges from the practice of oral history.'
This event will address the uses and challenges of the oral history methodology with indigenous peoples. Here, we will discuss the power dynamics that may occur during the interview. Additionally, we will address the question: Is a horizontal relationship possible during the practice of oral history?, from the perspective of researchers and individuals belonging to indigenous peoples and nationalities.
The speakers are: Nicolás Buckley, a professor at the European University of Madrid, and Rosa Alvarado, Councilwoman of the Municipality of Archidona. The commentators are Fredy Grefa and Régis Dandoy, professors at USFQ. Cheryl Martens, director of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Inequalities (USFQ), will be the moderator.
We look forward to welcoming you on Thursday, February 1st, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:20 PM in the Blue Hall (main campus of USFQ).
