Dr. Alexis' doctoral dissertation at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) focused on the mechanisms of drug release and degradation of biodegradable and drug-eluting stents. As a postdoctoral fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital (Harvard Medical School) in the laboratory of Dr. Omid Farokhzad and a research affiliate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2006 to 2009 in the laboratory of Prof. Robert Langer, he could develop multiple polymeric nanoparticle technologies. He has published more than 100 manuscripts and reviews, and 7 book chapters. Among these publications, his manuscript published in Molecular Pharmaceutics has been ranked as the most consulted during the last years and has been cited more than 2500 in Scopus. He was listed in Nature Biotechnology as Top Translational Junior Faculty in 2013 and Top 1% scientist cited in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (2020, 2021). Mentored or co-mentored over 250 undergraduate student projects and received two awards for work with minority students. I also graduated five Ph.D.'s and 4 M.S.'s.
