Professional Profile

Marco Herrera is a professor in the Electronics and Automation Engineering program at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Ecuador. He obtained his Master's degree in Automation and Robotics from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain. His research focuses on intelligent process control, as well as robot control, including both parallel structure robots and mobile robots. He has actively participated in research projects focused on these areas, contributing to the advancement of delay-dominant process control. He has published more than 60 articles in scientific journals and international conference proceedings. In addition, he is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Academic interests: Intelligent control techniques, advanced control of industrial processes, optimization based on bio-inspired techniques, robotic systems for applications in agriculture.
