Professional Profile

Noel Pérez-Pérez received a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science Engineering and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Applied Computer Science, specializing in Digital Image Processing, Pattern Recognition, and Machine Learning, both obtained from the Universidad de Ciego de Avila, Cuba, in 2005 and 2007, respectively. In 2015, he successfully earned his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science with a focus on Data Mining from the University of Porto, Portugal. His academic journey included a notable period from 2008 to 2015 as a Fellow Researcher at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management - INEGI, Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto. Subsequently, from 2015 to 2017, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Instituto de Telecomunicações - IT, Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto. Since 2017, Noel Pérez-Pérez has held the position of Full-Time Professor at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Ecuador, where he co-founded the Applied Signal Processing and Machine Learning Research Group. His extensive research pursuits encompass digital image processing, data mining, pattern recognition, and machine learning.
