Diego F. Cisneros-Heredia, holding a Ph.D. in Biogeography and an MSc in Environmental Management from King's College London (UK), along with a BSc in Applied Ecology from USFQ, serves as a Professor of Biology and the Director of the Tropical Biodiversity Institute IBIOTROP at Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador). He is concurrently the Curator of the Museum of Zoology, General Director of the TUERI Wildlife Hospital, and General Director of the USFQ Quito Biobank. With over 25 years of dedication to biodiversity research and conservation, Dr. Cisneros-Heredia's expertise spans taxonomy, biogeography, natural history, and conservation of amphibians, reptiles, birds, and terrestrial invertebrates. His extensive contributions include the description of new species and genera, totaling more than 150 scientific publications. Additionally, he serves as the Red List Authority for Amphibians and Squamated Reptiles of Ecuador for the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
