Professional Profile

Pablo Lucio Paredes earned a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from Institut d'études politiques de Paris (France). He is the Director of the Institute of Economics at the University San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador) and a professor. He directs outreach activities and supports the management and growth of the School of Economics. His focus is on macroeconomics. He serves as a consultant for national and international companies. He has been a member or advisor to commissions such as the Commission for Peace Negotiations with Peru and the Citizen Commission for the Reform of the Pension System. In 1992, he participated in the public sector as Secretary of Planning. He was a member of the Constituent Assembly of 2007. He founded the magazine "EKOS Economía" and several radio and television programs. He is the author of more than ten books on the Ecuadorian economy. He was one of the founders of the Terranova school, the Social Contract for Education, and the Fiscal Policy Observatory. He is a partner in the company Executive Forums in Ecuador.
