Scott Gibson earned his Ph.D. in Literature from the University of North Carolina Greensboro (United States) and his Master's degree from Bucknell University (United States). He currently serves as the Vice Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Academic Affairs and is an associate professor in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador). Scott also directs the Master's in Teaching English program. His research centers on African American and multiethnic literature in the United States. His work has been featured in journals such as "Studies in the American Short Story" and "Canadian Review of Comparative Literature." Scott serves as the book review editor for the College Literature journal and has collaborated on academic development projects with the Ministry of Education of Ecuador and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
