Estudios de Género

College of Social Sciences and Humanities
Minor description

The objective of this interdisciplinary minor is to provide the concepts and tools necessary to implement the gender approach in the analysis of contemporary Latin American and global societies. The minor will provide students with the basic foundations of gender studies and feminist theory, as well as the methodology and methods to conduct research on gender diversities, masculinities-femininities and social inequalities.

USFQ offers courses on gender from various disciplines and intellectual traditions. There is already a wide diversity of courses on gender studies and feminist theory in the different academic colleges, therefore, this minor is aimed at the entire university community. This minor will strengthen and organize the interdisciplinary view and action around gender studies so that students graduating from USFQ will have a comparative advantage in a working world that requires knowledge of gender studies.
