In the current landscape, sustainability is positioned as a key pillar in business strategy, dictating the need to integrate responsible practices at all levels of operation. Organizations are pressured to continuously innovate their business models, adapting them to be environmentally and socially sustainable. This involves a profound reevaluation of how to lead teams, manage resources, and comply with international regulations, all under a sustainability approach.
This program aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to apply effective leadership that promotes sustainability, design profitable businesses that respect ecological and social principles, and accurately evaluate adherence to sustainability standards. The goal is to train business leaders to direct the transformation towards more sustainable practices in their organizations and sectors.
Blended Learning
Live video conferences will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on 2 Saturdays per month from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Module: Strategic Leadership for Sustainability
Leadership and Sustainability
Explore how effective leadership promotes sustainable practices within organizations. Theories and leadership models that align ethics, social responsibility, and business results are discussed. Participants apply these concepts in simulations to lead teams towards sustainability, evaluating their impact on organizational culture and financial performance.
Sustainable Business Models
Analyze how sustainability is integrated into business models from the strategic core. Study how to innovate in products and services under principles of a circular economy, low-carbon initiatives, resource efficiency, and environmental protection. Methodologies for manually calculating environmental benefits, including carbon and water footprints, are addressed. Participants evaluate business models that are not only profitable but also generate a positive impact on the environment and society.
Module: Creating Sustainable Value
Sustainable Ecosystems
Manage business ecosystems that promote sustainability. Examine the interaction between different economic actors and their impact on the environment. Through case analysis, participants propose solutions to improve biodiversity and natural resources, strengthening relationships between businesses, communities, and governments.
Strategy and Sustainability Standards
Learn tools for developing a sustainability strategy, focusing on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors. Analyze key reporting and management standards: Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, SASB Standards, Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and investor questionnaires like S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) for Dow Jones Sustainability Index, FTSE4Good, CDP.
Extracurricular Activities
Talk with Expert: Ethical Leadership in Globalization
Highlights ethical leadership as a pillar to promote sustainability and social responsibility in globalization. Presents strategies to maintain strong ethical principles, promoting a positive environmental and social impact globally.
Complementary Talks
Aligned with the philosophy of Liberal Arts at USFQ, where all areas of knowledge have equal relevance and contribute to the development of knowledge, this program includes virtual talks on various current topics of interest. These are open to the general public or part of other programs. It is a space that strengthens the academic content of the program, and attendance is optional.
Business Forum
The business forum is a virtual meeting space between students and panelists; entrepreneurs, businesspeople, professors, and experts, who will share their perspectives, trends, and best practices. The forums are managed according to the annual schedule and include students from non-degree programs and master's degrees from the School of Business.
Business Visit
This business visit aims to give participants an understanding of the best business practices, with an emphasis on sustainability, of leading organizations in the country.
This program includes various virtual activities, such as presentations, practical exercises for the real application of the concepts presented, workshops, discussions, among others. The program applies an active, participatory, and critical methodology that links theory with practice. Students must access the virtual platform Desire to Learn (D2L) at least 2 hours in advance to familiarize themselves, use study resources, and complete virtual activities. Access to the D2L platform is available from the start of the program until one month after its completion.
