Orientación agosto 2023

Welcome, Dragons!
Orientation is an event organized by the Dean of Students that will take place from August 14th to 18th, 2023. For the event, students will be invited to spend a day at the main USFQ campus during Orientation Week.
Participation in the Orientation event is entirely voluntary, but it is highly recommended that students participate so they can get to know the campus and connect with their new peers.
All information with the details of the day and time of campus visits, as well as information on access to virtual sessions, will be sent during the last week of July through institutional email.
Orientation is coming soon... Don't miss it!

FAQs
The mechanisms for demonstrating proficiency are as follows:
A. Present your International Baccalaureate English or Advanced Placement English certificates within the first semester of studies at the USFQ Office OASA (oasa@usfq.edu.ec). This option is valid only if you provide notarized copies or copies with your school's seal verifying that you have completed and passed these studies, along with a copy of your ID.
B. Present the results of international English language exams such as IELTS, TOEFL iBT, or Cambridge English, at the USFQ OASA Office (oasa@usfq.edu.ec). Only exams taken up to two years prior will be accepted. This option is valid only if you provide notarized copies of the results, along with a copy of your ID.
Based on the results obtained, your English proficiency level will be validated according to the equivalence table for English placement levels maintained by the Office of Academic Affairs and Services OASA. The process requires payment and initiation of a homologation process in accordance with current regulations.
*ATTENTION: If you were admitted to the International Relations program, it is essential that you take the proficiency exam at USFQ the week before classes start or present the required documents to demonstrate your proficiency level during the orientation week. This way, you can be enrolled by the University in the English level corresponding to your first semester of studies. Otherwise, your registration in this level cannot be processed, and you will not be able to take other courses offered in English for this program from your second semester of studies. Failure to meet this requirement could extend the duration of your studies.
University Houses
In keeping with the spirit of Liberal Arts, the University Houses were established in 2016. They are part of the hidden curriculum, aiming to forge bonds of friendship among students and enhance the sense of university community. Thus, the Houses bring together students from various disciplines to foster solidarity and friendship, thereby improving social interaction among them. Each semester, hundreds of new students become part of the USFQ Community, pursuing studies in over fifty specialties under the umbrella of the Liberal Arts philosophy. In this context, social interaction among future professionals from the ten colleges is of vital importance.
