 Medical Specialties Admission Process

Rotations in several second and third-level hospitals that will greatly contribute to the clinical training of postgraduates.

Description

The Neonatology and Neonatal Intensive Care Specialization program trains pediatricians who opt for a second specialization, so they acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to transport, receive, stabilize, and restore the health of neonatal patients with severe injuries or conditions, severe instability of vital signs, or who are at the limits of survival.

An important part of the program awakens scientific curiosity in postgraduates, leading them to generate research and preparing them for teaching.

Applicant profile

The postgraduate studies in Neonatology and Neonatal Intensive Care are aimed at national and foreign doctors residing in the country who hold a legally accredited fourth-level degree in pediatrics by the SNIESE and the national health authority. Similarly, applicants must hold a third-level degree in medicine validated by ACESS. Foreign applicants' titles must be registered with the SNIESE and the Ministry of Public Health. Applicants must have passed the professional qualification exam of CACES, if applicable.

The applicant must adhere to the admission process, which is outlined in the current regulations governed by the Higher Education Council and the regulations of the University for Medical Specialties.
