Catalina Plúa holds a Master's degree in Higher and Postsecondary Education Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University (United States), where she collaborated with teams specializing in the evaluation and accreditation of undergraduate and graduate programs. She was a Fulbright scholar in 2014 and an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) scholar in 2018. She is the Director of the Office of Curriculum Design and International Accreditation at the University San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador). She supervises international accreditation processes and manages efforts to evaluate, accredit, and review undergraduate and graduate programs. Additionally, she collaborates as a professor in the Education program. She has trained Ecuadorian universities and international institutions in international evaluation and accreditation processes. She is a recurring expert consultant for the Council for the Assurance of Higher Education Quality (CACES, Ecuador) and an invited facilitator for ABET.
