David Chacón

Professional Profile

David obtained his MSc in Tourism, Society and Environment at Wageningen University & Research (Netherlands), he focused in the impact of developing community tourism within cacao and coffee organized destinations. Currently he is the International Programs Office Coordinator at USFQ Galapagos extension. Along his trajectory he has collaborated in research projects with the Institute of Heritage and Sustainable Tourism such as: Strengthen of the coffee and cacao value chain, “Biodiveridad, cocina e identidad de los pueblos afroecuatorianos” and “The impact of the declaration of the blue crab presidium on its value chain in Muisne, Ecuador”. David aims to explore the social and environmental impacts of sustainability from different perspectives, based on his experience in food sovereignty, heritage, culinary arts, hospitality and sustainable tourism.
