Fernando Astudillo, holder of a Ph.D. in Archaeology from Simon Fraser University (Canada), an MA in Archaeology from the University of Calgary (Canada), and a BA in Anthropology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, is a professor of Anthropology at the College of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador). His current research revolves around the Human History of the Galapagos Islands, with publications in journals such as "Environmental Archaeology," "Vegetation History and Archaeobotany," and "Advances in Archaeological Practice." Additionally, he co-authored the book "Historical Ecology and Archaeology in the Galapagos Islands.
