Natalie Izurieta is a medical doctor and psychologist graduated from Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador). She holds a Master of Science in Experimental and Clinical Neuroscience from Universität Regensburg (Germany) and a Doctorate in Medicine, specializing in Psychiatry, from the Universität Heidelberg (Germany). Her doctoral and postdoctoral studies delved into Biological Psychiatry, with a focus on social cognition, facial emotion recognition, and personality disorders. Natalie has expertise in techniques such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and electroencephalogram (EEG-event-related potentials ERPs). She is a professor and researcher at USFQ, teaching in the Psychology and Medicine majors.
