Experimental and Computational Economics Lab

About us

The Laboratory of Computational and Experimental Economics (ECEL) is a space designed for research by teachers and students in various branches of economics with a focus on human behavior.

ECEL's mission is to consolidate itself as a powerful research tool in the branches of Economics, covering elements of the study of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Game Theory, among other computational topics. Due to the computational power of its equipment, this laboratory allows the planning and execution of experiments in human behavior internally at USFQ and through agreements or research projects with foreign institutions.

Mission

ECEL will guarantee technical support for the development of research projects, workshops with unique approaches, and the execution of economic experiments for all members of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito and other institutions that require it, by the following objectives:

Objectives
  • Promote scientific research and its corresponding publication.
  • Provide solutions to local and foreign researchers.
  • Reinforce the knowledge of USFQ students and the experience of their professors and researchers.
  • Allow greater scope at the research group level to institutions dedicated to economic research outside USFQ.

Research
