Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI) - Breakfast with Bertrand Mossiat (RSF)

Initiated by Reporters Without Borders (RSF), an international NGO dedicated to defending press freedom, the Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI) aims to establish an international ISO-type standard for the journalism and media industry. ISO standards serve as international benchmarks for those striving for excellence in their editorial processes, services, and/or communication products. The various clauses of the JTI standard focus on media transparency, guarantees of editorial independence, and accountability throughout the journalistic production process. RSF is in negotiations with major digital platforms to increase the visibility of traditional and native web media's journalistic products, thereby generating greater benefits.

Targeted at media owners, chief editors, and news directors, the working breakfast on Thursday, November 9th, at the USFQ facilities in Guayaquil aims to introduce interested parties to RSF's Journalism Trust Initiative, explain the functioning and benefits of ISO standards from their creation to their use, outline the JTI standard (creation, objectives, operation, and its implementation in media worldwide). A self-assessment simulation of your media will be conducted using the JTI-APP portal.
