Rafael Soria

Rafael Soria holds a PhD in Energy Planning Sciences from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). He is a full-time professor and researcher at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador). He coordinates modeling studies of the Ecuadorian energy system and develops integrated long-term scenarios. He also collaborates, in several Latin American countries, with research projects focused on the development of integrated energy planning models, the formulation of energy policy and the mitigation of climate change in the energy and transport sectors. He is the author of more than 30 scientific publications in Q1 journals. He has experience as a national and international consultant. His work with organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank, World Bank, International Renewable Energy Agency, International Atomic Energy Agency, Bariloche Foundation and Getulio Vargas Foundation stands out.
